The first step to graduating with your Economics degree is to apply for your degree in DuckWeb. Fall, winter, spring, and summer graduates are welcome to participate in our Spring Commencement Ceremony.
Spring 2014 Commencement Participation
The Economics faculty and staff invite graduates and their guests to attend the department’s graduation ceremony and reception on Monday, June 16, 2014, at 3 pm on the East Lawn of the Knight Law School Library (time TBA). Be sure to complete the department’s commencement registration form if you plan to walk in the ceremony (RSVP by June 2), in addition to applying for your degree on DuckWeb.
This ceremony is for both undergraduate and graduate economics majors. Graduating students will be individually recognized. The ceremony will be approximately one and a half hours long, and a reception with refreshments will follow. If graduates or guests need special accommodations, please notify the department at (541) 346-8845.
The 2014 ceremony will also honor an inspiring undergraduate student. Please nominate an inspiring economics undergraduate by May 15, 2014 for this award.
The department’s graduation ceremony and reception will be held on the East Lawn of the Knight Law School Library. The East Lawn is located adjacent to the Knight Law School at 515 Agate Street. Please see the commencement map for detailed location.
Please note that this is an outdoor ceremony where shade or covering may not be readily available; please plan accordingly. The ceremony will be held, rain or shine. Tickets are not required or available.
Parking on campus is very limited. The University will provide free shuttle buses from Autzen Stadium to the main campus. It is strongly suggested that commencement guests park at Autzen Stadium and ride the shuttle bus. Parking and shuttle information is available on the University commencement website.
Graduates should gather on the East Lawn on graduation day. There will be a sign-in table, and our staff will be present to assist graduates with questions. Graduating students should arrive 30 minutes early. If graduates or guests need special accommodations, please notify the department at (541) 346-8845.
University Graduation Celebration
We encourage graduates and their guests to also attend the University Graduation Celebration beginning with an academic parade to the Matthew Knight Arena at 9:00 a.m. Details regarding this celebration are available from the Office of Student Life.
Regalia, Pictures and Announcements
Regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) can be ordered from the University of Oregon Duck Store beginning in early April. The Duck Store will be hosting a Grad Fair to assist students with regalia selection. Graduation announcements can be ordered from CB Graduation Announcements. Grad Images will photograph all graduates at the ceremony and in various locations across campus.
